Attention students! Anybody 15 or older is now eligible to take the driver’s permit test at school. This is a Class D knowledge test, not a road test, and it is not for students aiming to get a permit as a motorcyclist. Students wishing to take the test in the library should make an appointment with Ms. Wong. Before taking the exam, you must complete at least one practice exam in the library during your lunch period.
Before arriving, students need to complete the contact information form, which includes your full name, date of birth, full address, height, and eye color, and bring their student IDs. After passing, you will still be required to make an appointment at the DMV to pay the permit fees (which depend on your age – see the DMV website for more information) and receive your permit.
The exam itself is online and is available in a variety of different languages, including Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian, and others. It consists of 20 multiple choice questions, which you have 45 minutes to complete. To pass you need to get 14 out of 20 correct, as well as 2 out of 4 of the road sign questions. If you fail you can retake it as long as you can complete it within the 45 minutes.
If you’re interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please see Ms. Wong in the library!
