“It’s too early for this,” is what some students say when they walk into school every morning — but seniors gave up their valuable sleep last week to get to school before the sun.
Senior Sunrise is an event that rising seniors (no pun intended) look forward to every year. Their motivation to get up may have been the spread of food.
“A lot of work went into the Senior Sunrise,” said Class of 2026 Co-President Eliana Lieber. “We were able to get donations from the cafeteria and from Wegmans, and we’ve also been able to reach out to the community and ask for donations.”
It was a chilly morning, but students came prepared. Many brought blankets and fuzzy sweatshirts, and hot chocolate and coffee were offered to all students to keep warm.
The first spirit week of the year came to a close as it always does, with Pink-Out. Some students at the sunrise wore their best pink attire, while others wore handmade “senior” sweatshirts and cozy coverups.
This year’s Senior Sunrise was the best attended in six years. Students flooded the hill, sat with their friends, enjoyed breakfast together and took so. many. photos.
The sun is still rising on the seniors’ final year, and they’re making the most of it.
