On Friday, April 4, White Plains High School hosted its Junior Prom in the transformed H-CAFE. It was truly a night to remember. H-CAFE traded its traditional orange and black for a masquerade-themed color palette of black and gold. Falling on the last day of the third quarter, Junior Prom was an excellent way to celebrate the students’ successes so far this year and remind them that both the year, and, soon enough, high school itself, will be ending.
The event featured a Photo Booth, a mocktail bar, and a dance floor. Coach Lamont McCormick was the DJ for the event and kept the music and excitement going all night, even taking song requests. There was also a buffet with a variety of dinner and dessert options including pasta, dumplings, salad, and assorted cookies and brownies. All these offerings contributed to making the night so special.
There was a great turnout with over 100 people attending. Events like these help classes, in this case the Class of 2026, raise money for future events like Senior Prom. With the success of the Junior Prom, Senior Prom next year is sure to be an even greater success. The class now turns its attention to its trip to Six Flags New England on June 27.
