On February 4, seven teams of eleventh and twelfth grade students participated in a “Shark Tank” style competition in which they had a chance to pitch their early-stage products to five experienced advisors as part of the INCubatoredu program
INCubatoredu teacher Jesse Durry hosted the mid-year pitch, which was the students’ chance to present prototypes and receive feedback before their final pitch in June, when the teams will return to present their improved products.
The teams and their products are described in the captions in the gallery below, except for DefenceX and their Bug Block Band, a reusable mosquito repellent wristband for nature lovers and those sensitive to other repellents.
One lucky team will even have a chance to present their product at the national level in Chicago, where they can earn cash prizes and connect with potential investors, turning their classroom pitch into a real-world product.
